For better sleep
dormiente Tips for healthy sleep

If you are interested in healthy sleep or are considering purchasing a new mattress – be it a natural latex or a synthetic foam one – we recommend that first you get a clear idea on what your personal requirements are and what you experience when you lie down in your own bed. We have put together a few questions, we suggest you ask yourself.  In our opinion these cover all the important aspects when it comes to deciding what it is that constitutes a good and healthy bed.

Ask yourself these questions or ask them to the person advising you when you are next buying a mattress. We think you will find that your answers will quickly and effectively get you into a position from where you can pick the mattress and bed that suit you best.

  • The Orthopaedic correct position

  • When sleeping on my sides do I sometimes get pins and needles in my arm?
  • Do I wake up in the morning suffering from pain in my shoulders?
  • Do I wake up in the morning suffering from back pain?
  • Am I able to comfortably sleep on my back and sides?
  • Do my slats effectively complement my mattress?
  • Do I find my bed and mattress comfortable?
  • Do I have a stiff neck in the mornings?
  • Social aspects and sustainability

  • Tips:

  • Don’t forget your bed cover or duvet: Is it big enough? Comfortable and cuddly enough? Do you get too cold or too hot under it? Maybe it is made from a synthetic material, maybe polyester or such like?
  • Keep an eye on the room temperature in your bedroom: it is easier to sleep well in a cooler environment
  • It is harder to sleep well on a full stomach, therefore try not to eat too much or too late in the evening
  • Try to avoid electro-smog in your bedroom: so don’t have TVs, phones, radios or computers in there
  • Alcohol, nicotine, coffee or tea can make it harder to get a good night’s sleep
